Holy Crap Cereal was featured on CBC’s Dragons’ Den. Following
the airing of the episode, the company generated over $1.5 million in internet
sales alone!
If you have no idea what Dragons’ Den is, it’s a Canadian
reality TV show where entrepreneurs pitch their idea to a panel of Canadian investors.
The dragons/investors then decide if they would like to invest or pass up on
the idea. If the dragons like the idea,
they invest their cash and bring the idea to a larger consumer base.
After Dragon Jim sampled Holy Crap, he offered
creators Corin and Brian Mullins $120,000 for a 20 per cent stake in their
company mere moments after tasting the product. This made history as it was the
fastest deal ever made in the history of the show!
I was super excited to try the cereal for myself. For my review, I
was sent over some packets of Holy Crap Cereal and its sister cereal Skinny B.
Don’t you just love the names? The difference between the two is Skinny B is
sugar free, contains no fruit, and contains 50% more Chia seeds than Holy Crap.
Holy Crap is made with organic chia, organic hulled hemp
hearts, organic buckwheat, organic cranberries, organic raisins, organic apple
bits, and organic cinnamon.
Skinny B is made with organic chia, organic hulled hemp
hearts and organic buckwheat.
All ingredients you can pronounce! They are both also gluten
free, lactose free, sugar free, wheat free, nut free, vegan & are all
natural.
They both taste pretty darn good! To prepare you simply add your choice of any hot or cold liquid and wait about 5 minutes for the cereal to soak. I like to mix mine with milk, hot water, or yogurt. In terms of overall texture, the closest thing that I can liken them to is tapioca.
Unlike traditional cereals where you need 1 cup or more per
serving, Holy Crap & Skinny B only
require 2 tablespoons per serving. This is because when they soak with liquid,
they get really inflated. Holy Crap & Skinny B are very filling, so they
will leave you feeling full for a long time.
I’m impressed with both Holy Crap and Skinny B. Not only are
they good for you, they taste really yummy too! Great healthier alternative for
breakfast, I will definitely repurchase.
